In H1, net profit of Chelyabinsk zinc plant under IAS grew 3.4 times to 3.1 billion rubles

In the first six months of 2015, the net profit of Chelyabinsk zinc plant under IAS increased almost 3.4 times to 3.129 billion rubles against 925 million rubles in the same period of the previous year, the company reports.

The growth in the net profit was contributed by the devaluation of the ruble and the increase in sales of zinc and its alloys on the domestic market, as well as the reversal of previously accrued loss from devaluation of fixed assets of Nova Zinc (a part of the plant, operator of the Akzhal lead-zinc deposit, Kazakhstan), the report says.
