SOCAR holds 2D and 3D seismic exploration at the Tumbul-Nekhren field in Nakhchevan for defining of possibility for an underground gas storage construction. To achieve the purpose, they drill an exploration well. The Vice President of SOCAR H. Yusifzade claims that the volume of the underground gas storage can be 300 million cubic m. For commercial reasonability of the project, the width of the salt deposits should be at least 40 m, and they are 52 m at the field. The company is going to drill 3-4 wells more to define the volume of the future underground gas storage.
