Gazprom may postpone development of Shtokman for several years
Next week, the Gazprom’s Board will discuss the perspectives of the Shtokman gas condensate deposit – perhaps, its development will be postponed for future generations, because the South-Kirinsk filed in Sakhalin has comparable reserves and is located closer to the markets of the Asia-Pacific region, the Deputy Head of the Russian gas holding company Andrey Kruglov said on Friday.
“Next week a meeting of the Board will dedicate to the Shtokman field. I don’t rule out that this deposit will be developed by future generations. We’ll see how much the market will change,” – he said, speaking at the session of the European Business Congress. The Gazprom’s Board usually is in session on Thursdays.
