Gazprom to invest 240 billion rubles into geological exploration through until 2016

Gazprom geologorazvedka intends to carry out geological exploration to the amount of over 240 billion rubles through till 2016, the company’s general director, Alexei Davydov reported.

“This is over 224 thousand meters of drifting, 81 wells, roughly 30 thousand square km of 3D seismic survey, about 7 thousand linear km of 2D seismic survey. The increase in reserves is expected to be 1.3 billion tons of oil equivalent,” – Davydov told.

Last year, 3D seismic survey made up 6.484 thousand square km, 2D – 1.156 linear km, 20 wells were constructed, and the drifting reached 37.474 km (108% of the plan). The most significant results on increase of the reserves were reached in Western Siberia – about 408 billion cubic meters of gas at the Kruzernshtern and West-Tambei fields.
