Azerbaijan is ready to press Russia on the gas markets of Albania and Montenegro. According to the Reurers, SOCAR is going to prepare a feasibility study for gas supplies in these countries that can help them to reduce their dependence on Russian gas.
In December 2014, Albania and Azerbaijan signed a preliminary agreement on cooperation in the gas supply within the project of the delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Europe from the Caspian Sea.
The so-called "Southern Corridor" will provide the supply of gas to Turkey and Greece and then to Italy via Albania and the Adriatic Sea.
