Russia doesn’t have Ukrainian guarantees of prepayment for gas supplies

During the tripartite talks in Brussels, the Ukraine hasn’t provided guarantees of its prepayment for gas supplies, the Russia Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said after the meeting. The negotiations will continue on Thursday. Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller said that agreements on gas wouldn’t be signed without financial guarantees.

During the tripartite talks in Brussels, which continued throughout the night, the Ukraine didn’t provide guarantees of prepayment for gas, but promised to find the money.

"Today it was stated that the Ukraine would find these funds. Such negotiations were held with the European Commission and with international financial institutions. It was claimed to us that the Ukraine would find the funds to ensure the delivery of prepaid gas in the volume of 4 billion cubic meters," – the TASS cites Novak.
