Norilsk Nickel to finance the energy infrastructure of Bystrinskoye

GMK “Norilsk Nickel” will take part in the financing of the construction of the energy infrastructure for the Bystrinskoye GOK, while FSK (Federal Grid Company) will buy out the infrastructure in the future. This decision has been taken following the results of RF President, V.Putin meeting with the CEO of the company V.Potanin.

The President was interested in the provision of electric power to the Bystrinsky GOK.

Potanin said there was signed an agreement with FSK in 2013 on connecting the GOK in 2017. However, due to a reduction of the investment programme FSK has no funds for the implementation of the project. “We understand the situation and are ready to find the way, take part at any stage of financing. But it is important for us to finish building the infrastructure and they could take it and use it,” Potanin said.
