Japan is still interested in Russian LNG plant

Japan is still interested in the development of the project of the construction of an LNG plant in Vladivostok and its supply from Russia, the RIA Novosti reports, referring to the head of the international department of the country’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Shinichi Kihara.

As the official said at today's press briefing in Tokyo, the international situation around Russia in connection with the situation in the Ukraine had no impact on Japan's attitude to the project.

"The political and diplomatic situation won’t be brought to this area, and as for the gas projects from Russia, they remain unchanged," - said Kihara.
