Turkmenistan considers perspective the project of natural gas supply in Western direction

Turkmenistan considers the project of the Turkmen natural gas supply in the Western direction to be perspective, the first secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan, B. Redjepov said.

At the briefing dedicated to the priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 69th general session of the UN General Assembly he said that the respective requests would be discussed at the International meeting of experts in Ashkhabad on December 10-11th.

For the past years Turkmenistan together with its partners has realized two large pipeline projects – to China and Iran. We consider the functioning of these gas pipelines as the most important positive factor of the region’s development, its turning into one of the energy centers of world significance. We consider the project of the Turkmen natural gas supply in the Western direction to be perspective and we will actively cooperate in this issue with all the interested parties, Mr. Redjepov said.
