Oil production at Kashagan may be postponed for 2.5 years.

The restart of the oil production at Kashagan may be postponed again, this time until 2017. Presumably the decrease in prices for oil and the impact of economic sanctions against Russia contribute to this, according to the representatives of development companies, the website of TK "Almaty" informs.

While there were no official statements, but these forecasts of the developers and local experts are quite real. In addition, Uzakbai Karabalin, the head of the former Ministry of Oil and Gas, has repeatedly stated that pumping black gold will not start until 2016. The economists called the reason of the "freezing" of work at the Kashagan field is not only in the pipeline, but in the passive participation of the Kazakh companies in the development of the project.
