Rosneft acquires oil-and-gas assets of “ALROSA” for $1.38 bln

OJSC “Oil company “Rosneft” has agreed on an acquisition of a number of oil-and-gas assets of “ALROSA” JSC on the territory of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and the republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which include a 100% participation share in CJSC “Geotransgas”, “Urengoy gas company” Ltd, CJSC “Irelyakhneft” and 99.9995% shares in OJSC “ALROSA-Gas”. The agreement was signed by the president, chairman of the Board of Management of OJSC “Rosneft” I.Sechin and the president of “ALROSA” F.Andreev in the presence of the Russian Prime Minister, D.Medvedev.

The total sum of the deal will make up $1.38 billion, the press-service of the company states. The acquisition of oil-and-gas assets of ALROSA will allow an increase of recoverable gas resources of the Rosneft Group of companies by more than 200 billion cubic meters and strengthen the Yamal gas cluster of the company.
