Production at Kashagan can restart in H1 2016

Production at Kashagan could restart in H1 2016 under the most optimistic scenario, the Minister of Oil and Gas, U. Karabalin says. Under the second variant, the date is H2 2016, concerning the full completion of construction of the gas pipeline.

Production at the deposit stopped in September 2013 due to a gas leakage, within 2 weeks after its launch. After restoring of production in October 2013, they discovered another leakage. Analysis performed over a number of months revealed multiple micro-fractures in the pipeline that appeared after the influence to the metal of associated gas with a high sulfur content.
