Azerbaijan develops Caspian shelf with participation of BP

20 new wells at the shallow water area of the Gyuneshli deposit are only the first stage of the ambitious plan of SOCAR for hydrocarbons exploration and development at the Caspian shelf, the Vice President of SOCAR, H. Yusifzade says. In his opinion, discovering of the Umid and Absheron gas condensate deposits ensures in presence of other perspective structures in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea. Potential discoveries include such deposits as Babek, Nakhchyvan, Vafar, Mashal, Asiman and Shafag.
