Evraz NTMK launches a project of non-waste production

​Evraz NTMK has launched an important technological site which will allow to improve the ecology by means of a complex processing of production waste, the department of information policy of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, reported.

The construction of a shop of vanadium slag grinding (waste of cast iron production) is over at the plant. The project is realized in the framework of the non-waste conception.

Evraz NTMK produces vanadium slag in the converter shop – up to 10 thousand tons monthly. Slag is necessary in the production of ferrovanadium, a special addition for steel alloying.

The new site is equipped with special units for grinding. It will produce vanadium slag pure from metal parts and ground slag. Slag of thin fractions will be shipped to the enterprises of Evraz, partners in Russia and overseas.
