The Ukraine is again persuaded to return money.

Today Russia and the EU are trying to use the last opportunity to avoid the transfer of Ukraine onto the prepay system for gas since June. The representatives from all three sides will come to a meeting in Berlin, although Ukraine has refused to fulfill the terms of a compromise agreed at a similar meeting earlier this week. But it is unclear whether the Brussels succeed, who for two weeks is making every effort to find a compromise to achieve the resolution of the crisis.

Russia, the European Union and Ukraine have agreed to take part in today's meeting in Berlin, which will most likely be the last chance for the parties to avoid the option to disconnect Russian gas to the Ukraine from July 3rd. Meanwhile, it is unclear what will now be discussed at the meeting. As Sabine Berger, the representative of the European Commission (EC), reported to "the Kommersant", it is planned "to hold further discussions in accordance with the proposals of the EC presented on Monday". According to these agreements, it could be about a new reduced price for Ukraine, but Kiev has not fulfilled the necessary prerequisites, refusing to pay $ 2.2 billion - the debt of "Naftogaz of Ukraine" to "Gazprom", not contested by either party, (see "the Kommersant" on May 29th). Moreover, Ukraine has effectively cancelled the opportunity to discuss a compromise, reiterating that it will repay the debt to "Gazprom" only after reaching the agreement on the price, which is unacceptable for Russia.
