Gazpromneft tested “green” seismic survey in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area

“Gazpromneft” has tested an innovative technology at the deposit in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. It allows reducing forest devastation bytwice while carrying out a seismic survey.

The pilot testing has been carried out at the Zapadno-Chatylkinskoye licensed site (developed by “Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegas). It is based on wireless information-gathering system RT System2. This method makes it possible to place sensory devices in conditions of complex landscape in a short period of time, monitor the signals in real-time mode and carry out on-site processing of the results in the field environment.

“Gazpromneft” estimated an efficiency of a new system in 2013, when it carried out seismic survey at Shakal block in Iraq. There was taken a decision to implement an innovative “green” technology in Russia afterwards.
