Gazprom intends to launch South Stream at the end of 2015
The South Stream project is being implemented on schedule and will start working in late 2015, Gazprom's head, Alexei Miller stated at the general meeting of the European Business Congress.
According to Miller, the reliability of gas supplies to Europe could be increased by diversifying routes and South Stream is one of them. The theme of reliable supplies is now particularly urgent for the EU because of concerns for the transit of Russian gas.
"The South Stream project is implemented strictly according to schedule, which was adopted. The construction of the offshore part is implemented strictly on schedule, as well as the works in Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary. And there is no doubt that the first gas via the South Stream project's first offshore pipe will be delivered to Bulgaria at the end of next year,"- said Miller.
