In 2013 the exports of Russian natural gas to Europe grows by 16%.

In 2013 the export volumes of natural gas from Russia to Western and Eastern Europe increased by 16%, the Information Department of the United States Department of Energy concluded in the newly released report on Thursday.

According to the data in this document, last year Russia exported on average 441.7 million cubic meters of natural gas per day to the countries of Western and Eastern Europe. This represents a 16 percent increase compared to the same period in 2012, the Information Department of the United States Department of Energy admits.

According to it, the supply of Russian "blue fuel" Western Europe increased by 20 percent last year and averaged 348.2 million cubic meters per day. All of this growth occurred in three countries - the UK, Germany and Italy. And the most significant increase in the consumption of Russian gas by 28.3 million cubic meters per day to the point of approximately 68 million cubic meters/ took place in Italy. It had a share of about 16 percent of Russian "blue fuel" supplied through the pipelines to Western and Eastern Europe in 2013. Meanwhile, the supply of Russian gas to Germany for the period increased by 19.8 million cubic meters per day to 110 million cubic meters, and to the UK - 11.3 million cubic meters per day to about 34 million cubic meters.
