Qatari gas is a direct threat to Russia and Syria

Russian gas export can be threatened due to the attempts of Qatar to enter European markets of pipeline gas.

As Qatari gas is much cheaper, the whole system of gas delivery to Europe could collapse. Qatar won’t even have to drive Gazprom out, as appearance of smaller amounts at lower prices will make Gazprom reduce its prices and change the conditions of the contracts. However, Gazprom’s capability of leading a pricing war is seriously limited in contrast to Qatar with its cheap gas and the latest extraction technologies.
