Gazprom does not carry out work on the pipeline via the Ukok plateau

Gazprom has not admitted the investment decision about the Altai pipeline via the natural park Ukok, no work is executed and no design financing is presupposed before 2015, the Deputy Chairman of Management Board of Gazprom V. Golubev says in his letter to the Ministry of Natural Resources; RIA News  possess a copy of the letter.

The pipeline was planned to be laid via the territory of Altai Mountains uniting West Siberian gas deposits with China. Multiple ecological and public organizations have been asking many years to change the route, leading it away from Ukok.
