OMK wins tender on pipes supply for South Stream

CJSC “OMK” (Moscow) became the winner of the tender for pipes supply for the construction of the first branch of the offshore main pipeline “South Stream”. Under the agreement, signed between OMK and South Stream Transport B.V. on January 29th, 2014, the company will manufacture more than 300 kilometers of LDP for the project.

The pipes of 813 mm in diameter and 39 mm of wall thickness will be manufactured at the Vyksunsky steel works from the steel SAWL 450 under DNV-OSF101 (2010) the standards and technical specifications of South Stream Transport. They are meant for operation at the depth of up to 2250 metres in the areas of steep continental slopes of deep coastal plain and in the area, loaded with hydrogen sulfide.
