The resource potential of Russian will rise because of hard to-extrac reserves

Nowadays Russia possesses the immense potential for enlargement of its mineral and raw material base because of the development of hard-to extract reserves and non-traditional hydrocarbons. However it is restricted by a number of factors. In particular, they are absence in the considered and substantiated definitions and classifying of hard-to extract reserves and the theory of forecasting of the objects localization, regulations of geological exploration (at the expense of the federal budget), the method for calculation of such hydrocarbons reserves etc.

These problems were reflected in the report elaborated by the hydrocarbon block of RosGeo and presented by the director of the company’s department for administration of hydrocarbon geological exploration projects O. Korchagin at the National oil and gas forum.

The priority objects for successful development of hard-to extract reserves and non-traditional hydrocarbons are the deposits in the mature production regions with the developed infrastructure. They enable to considerably increase the resource potential with reducing of the financial expenses of the Russian oil and gas territories, in the opinion of RosGeo specialists.
