Availability of hydrocarbons in the Kara Sea is proved

The search company looking for oil and gas deposits in the Kara Sea has returned to Arkhangelsk. For three months the scientists have managed to collect about 900 water and soil samples. They report, there are hydrocarbons in the Kara Sea, though don’t specify the amount and the location, as the works haven’t been finished yet. The samples will be analyzed in St. Petersburg.

The search company had two tasks. The first one from the Ministry of Natural Resources: to take samples from the bottom of the Kara Sea. The second one from Rosneft: to visit the points specified by the company and collect the soil samples. The results of the survey are classified.
