The RF Ministry of Industry and Trade expects to replace Western technologies in fuel and energy sector in 3 years.

The RF Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a program for the replacement of Western technologies that are critical for the Russian fuel and energy sector. Such technologies in the field of exploration, engineering services and general engineering must be replaced in 2016, according to the presentation to the meeting on import substitution in oil and gas engineering.

The RF Ministry of Industry and Trade has identified six groups of critical technologies in the fuel and energy sector, that Russian industry has to master in the next three years. In addition to the above, these are drilling, extraction and processing, software. Some of them, such as seismic systems and navigation equipment, are planned to be replaced already in 2016. Other - Arctic drilling, underwater and subglacial extraction, the hydraulic fracturing - in 2017, ITAR-TASS reports.
