Gazprom and the Ukraine agree on gas supply resumption.

On Friday during the Russia - Ukraine - EU tripartite meeting the resumption of Russian gas supply to the Ukraine was agreed on. The Ukraine has agreed to pay $ 3.1 billion in debt, and Russia - to resume the supply of gas at $ 385 per thousand cubic meters. But the arrangements are temporary - the parties have to go back to the discussions in six months, RBK daily informs.

The start of the negotiations was postponed several times - neither Russia nor the Ukraine would like to make concessions. But the EU forced the events, explaining its position with the proximity of the cold weather. "We can not wait for the decision from Stockholm, we need a temporary solution for the coming winter. We agreed to continue the consultations and maybe we can come to an interim solution and temporary costs", - Gunther Oettinger, the European Commissioner for Energy, stated in late August. On September 9th, during the talks with Yuriy Prodan he was able to negotiate the price of gas, which could theoretically suit "Gazprom". It was about the price, which in summer was to be $ 320 per 1 thousand cubic meters, and in the peak period - in winter - up to $ 385 per 1 thousand cubic meters. But "Gazprom" continued to insist on a price of $ 385 for the entire year.
