Proven and partially known oil and gas reserves in the Caspian Region reach 48 billion barrels and 8.2 trillion cubic metres. 75% of this oil and 67% of this gas are situated at shelf deposits (160 km to the coastline). This is the forecast of the US Ministry of Energy.
