KAZ Minerals increased copper production by 9% in 2014

In 2014 the volume of cathode copper produced by KAZ Minerals group made up 83.5 thousand tons having reached the upper level of the planned range of 80-85 thousand tons. To compare, in 2013 the stake of enterprises of the Group was 76.8 thousand tons of cathode copper, the press service reports.

“The rise by 9% is partially explained by the rise of the coefficient of copper extraction at the Nikolaevsky processing plant in Eastern Kazakhstan from 82% to 88% as a result of the modernization program”, is reported.

In Q4 2014 the Group produced 24.1 thousand tons of cathode copper, by 32% more than in Q3. The growth was due to the rise of volumes of copper concentrate production as well as the processing of the accumulated in Q3 volume of uncompleted production.
