British court denies "Rosneft" petition to suspend the sanctions order.

British court denied the "Rosneft" petition to suspend the national law on the control of the execution of the sectoral EU sanctions. The Russian company referred to legal sanctions ambiguity and asked the court to postpone the entry of the order, by which the violation of the sanctions leads to criminal responsibility, into force.

On Thursday, November 27th the Administrative Court of London, part of the High Court, ruled on the petition of "Rosneft" not in favour of the company, the spokesman of the Ministry of UK for Business told RBK. The British lawyers of "Rosneft" asked the court to suspend the Export Control Order, signed by the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Energy, on November 5th. The order introduces criminal liability for breach of the EU sanctions against the Russian oil sector in the United Kingdom or the UK persons. Now the act comes into force, as planned, on November 29th, 2014.
