Western sanctions don’t affect operation of refineries in the Samara region

Since 2009 to 2018, investments of Rosneft in the innovative development of oil refining enterprises in the Samara region will make up 404.5 billion rubles. The region’s governor Nikolai Merkushkin reported this in an interview with the RIA Novosti.

There are several refineries in the Samara region. These are three refineries of Rosneft - Kuibyshev refinery, Novokuibyshev and Syzran refineries, and one of the main oil-producing units - Samaraneftegaz.
"The sanctions, introduced by the USA, limited the access of Rosneft"and its subsidiaries to the US capital market. According to some experts, the direct consequences of the sanctions are not essential, but nevertheless, they worsen the conditions of loans to Russian borrowers, "- said the head of the region, asked about the impact of the sanctions to the Rosneft  activity.
