Gazprom has given a name to its new LNG tanker

In Jinhae (South Korea) the deputy chairman of Gazprom OJSC, A. Medvedev, participated in the ceremony of giving a name for its new gas carrier for LNG transportation. The vessel with 170.2 thousand cubic m capacity was named “Pskov”.

Due to the equipment with a special diesel-electric engine, the “Pskov” LNG tanker is one of the most economic and ecologically friendly in the world. The LNG carrier is certified by the Ice2 class and can be operated at low temperatures, and can transport LNG by the Northern Sea Route in open water. The tanker is classified in conformity with the standards of the Russian sea navigation registry and Lloyd's registry.

The “Pskov” gas carrier is the 2nd in the series of high-tech LNG tankers of ice class worked out by the order of Gazprom. The vessel will be chartered at Sovkomflot by Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T).
