Astana criticizes the Kazakhstan oil refineries.

The Kazakhstan Fuel Association experts criticized the work of the domestic refineries. In particular, Sergey Smirnov, an expert of the association, stated that the three Kazakh oil refineries do not give the amount of fuel and the quality that the customer needs.

"Our plants produce a total of 1.9 million tons of AI-92 gasoline (against the need for 2.8 million tons) and about 4 million tons of diesel fuel (against the need for 4.6 million tons)", - the expert states.

Thus, according to Sergei Smirnov, the upgrading the oil refineries in Kazakhstan can be compared to the repair of roads in the country. "A huge amount of budget and money is spent, but the roads remain as broken as they used to be. The situation with the oil refineries is similar. They are being periodically upgraded. But if in Russia almost all the plants produce Euro-4 and Euro-5, we are "circling" around Euro 2. At the same time Russia processes about half of its total volume of the crude oil, we have this figure stagnated at 18%", - Sergey Smirnov stated.
