Majilis approves ratification of amendments to agreement with Russia on supply of oil and oil products

The Deputies of Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament have approved ratification of amendments to an agreement between Governments of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on trade and economic cooperation in the field of oil and oil products supply to Kazakhstan dated December 9th, 2010.

The main purpose of the amending protocol is completion of performance of Kazakhstan’s obligations on counterdelivery of oil to Russia, the of loading the Pavlodar petrochemical plant with Russian oil and uninterrupted supply of Russian high-octane gasoline and jet fuel production to the domestic market of Kazakhstan in the amount, which is necessary to cover the consumption in 2012-2013.

At the same time, the counterdelivery of oil to Russia in exchange for oil products wasn’t carried out from January 1st, 2014.
