Barroso warns against consequences of violation of EU rules by South Stream

The European Commission’s Chairman, Jose Manuel Barroso has warned the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Plamen Oresharski about EC 's reaction in case of the violation of the European rules during the operation of the South Stream gas pipeline. Barroso made ​​such a statement at the informal dinner of leaders of the EU states.

"I told members of the Council of Europe that some agreements on South Stream that have been discussed and continue to be discussed that contradict the EU rules. Of course, we will work on this. And today I informed the Prime Minister of Bulgaria of my intention in this regard. Our internal market rules must be respected,"- the RIA Novosti quoted Barroso.

According to Barroso, the European Commission will take measures, if it considers that the EU rules for the internal market are violated
