In Q1 2014, the Ukraine reduced steel exports to Russia by 31.1%

In Q1 2014, the Ukraine dispatched to Russia 6.5 million tons of metal items (-31.1%) for $3.4 billion (-34.2%). In Q1 2014, the Ukraine reduced steel exports to the CIS by 37.6%, and to Russia by 31.1%. Metal exports reduced  by 12.9% to the EU, and by 10% to the Middle East.

The decline in sales to Russia has made Metallurgprom to revise with a reduction the forecast on steel production in the Ukraine from 30 million tons to 28.5 million tons in 2014.

In Q1 2014, the Ukraine reduced steel production by 9% to 7.5 million tons, ready steel by 8% to 6.7 million tons, and cast iron by 3% to 7.4 million tons.
