Ukraine warns EU about the possible "gas war" repetition.

The Ministry of Energy of the Ukraine has warned the EU of the possibility of a repeat of the "gas war" with Russia and shutdown of the Russian gas transit, RBC writes with reference to the letter of Yuriy Prodan, the Head of Ukrainian Minenergougol, to Gunther Oettinger, the European Commissioner for Energy.

"Unfortunately, the pessimistic forecasts about the new prices for the supply of natural gas from the Russian Federation panned out. Today it was announced that since April 2014 the new price will not allow for a discount under the "Kharkov agreements", - the letter stated.

The Ukrainian Minenergougol have concluded that there is extremely little time to organize Reverse gas supplies from the EU to the Ukraine. "If we don’t solve this problem quickly, we can predict the recurrence of the "gas war", which took place in 2009 on the same scenario and with the same consequences, including even the complete cessation of gas supplies from the Russian Federation in a westerly direction", - the letter informed.
