Construction of Mangistau refinery to strengthen economy of Western Kazakhstan

Today Kazakhstan requires large volumes of gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel production. The President proposed to build a new – the fourth - refinery. Leadership of the Mangistau region and a number of petroleum veterans, well-known in the country, propose to consider the construction of the refinery in the Mangistau region. There are all reasons for this. Oilman with thirty years of experience, who worked in the company Mangistaumunaigas and now director of EnergoKomplektStroyServis Atagozy Botagaraev told what he thinks about construction of the refinery in Mangistau:

Discovery and rapid development of unique oil fields Karajanbas and Kalamkas on the Buzachi peninsula in the Mangistau region is an important stage in the development of the oil and gas industry.

However, sale and use of Buzachi oil is irrational and inefficient due to its particular specificity - high viscosity and ease fraction in the amount of not more than 10-15% is low evaluated on the sale market.

As Atagozy Botagaraev noted, in due time the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry of the USSR and Cabinet of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR determined the need to build the Manghistau refinery after a deep study of various options for the efficient use and processing of Buzachi oil and provision of the republic with oil products.
