Rosneft starts to work on costs – it demands new discounts from contractors

State-owned companies press heavily on their suppliers and partners to decrease their costs. As the Kommersant has got to know, following the monopolies Rosneft has also demanded from contractors to decrease prices by 5-15%. Large foreign companies manage to save terms of contracts, but small companies have to meet the affluent customer half-way. They are afraid of restrictions on participation in the future tenders of Rosneft, although the company denies such possibility.

Rosneft has demanded from contractors to reduce costs on contracts by 5-15%, sources, who are familiar with the situation, told the Kommersant. “This concerns as the current agreements, as the future ones,” – one of them says. This was confirmed by the Kommersant’s sources in companies, which cooperate with Rosneft. It sent letters to drilling and transport organizations, suppliers and companies, which carry out seismic survey. According to two sources of the Kommersant, Rosneft unofficially warns that contractor may be debarred from new tenders if the terms are not accepted.
