KazTransGas took $700 mln. from the Development Bank of China for the construction of gas pipeline

The state gas transporting company of Kazakhstan “Kaztransgas” borrowed $700 million from the Development Bank of China in order to finish the construction of a main gas pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent, via which Kazakh and Turkmen gas is supplied to the south of the country and to China through transit. The documents on the financing of the largest pipeline project of Kazakhstan in post-Soviet times were signed in Beijing on Thursday, the press-service of the company stated.
The first pipe section Bozoy-Shymkent of 1.143 km length was completed in September 2013. It can transport 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
