Excess-profits tax imposition in oil sector is not a top-priority goal for the Ministry of Finance

Currently, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation works over the introduction of excess-profits taxation in oil sector in Russia. I.Trunin, head of the department for tax and customs tariff policy in the Ministry of Finance asserted about it. “We work over this introduction, but it is not a priority for us,” he said.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development S.Belyakov said the introduction of extra income taxation was a right decision.

Vice-premier A.Dvorkovich noted there would not be scale switch to excess-profits taxation in oil sector, but the work over such proposals on the base of separate pilot projects will be kept on.
