Gazprom doesn’t comment on the situation with gas supply to Turkey

​The deputy chairman of Gazprom, V. Golubev, didn’t comment on the situation with gas supply to Turkey. Previously it was planned to increase the supplies. Gazprom and Botas signed a memorandum on the construction of Turkish Stream.

In 2014 Gazprom shipped 27.4 bln cubic m of gas to Turkey, which is about 60% of the entire volume of gas consumed by Turkey. Turkey is the second largest sales market for Gazprom after Germany.  Gas from Russia is pumped to Turkey by the Blue Stream via the bottom of the Black Sea as well as by the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline via the Ukraine.

PM D. Medvedev on Thursday said that the Government was ordered to work out a complex of measure in the economic and humanitarian spheres in response to the act of aggression from Turkey.

Mr. Medvedev said the issue of banning of activity of Turkish companies in Russia would be discussed. The Minister of Economic Development, A. Ulyukaev, admitted that restrictions might be set for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and Turkish Stream by Russia. It might also concern charter flights to Turkey. Moreover, Russia might restrict or even ban the entrance to the ports and airspace of the country for the vessels and aircrafts of Turkey.
