Fight with counterfeit gasoline at filling stations to be toughened
The fight against counterfeit automobile fuel, which began in the spring after public criticism of Vladimir Putin, threatens to hit the initiators of the story - major oil companies. The Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology offers to fine filling stations and oil refineries for poor quality of fuel by 10-15% of annual revenue, and in the case of repeated violations - to stop them for three months. Most of the Kommersant’s interlocutors on the market consider the proposal too stringent. However, the State Commission for Fight with Counterfeit will consider relevant amendments to the Administrative Code already on December 9.
The Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology has proposed to introduce negotiable penalties for filling stations and oil refineries for poor quality fuel in the amount of 10-15% of their annual revenue, and in the case of the repeated violation - to stop them for 90 days. According to the Kommersant’s information, the draft of the amendments to the Administrative Code will be submitted to the meeting of the State Commission on Counteraction to Illegal Circulation of industrial products on December 9. The maximum fine for legal entities is now 300 thousand rubles, and the suspension of activities is only possible if the damage to "the life and health of citizens" was caused. "For the average filling station in Moscow the 10% penalty on turnover is about 10 million rubles, for a refueling station on local road away from big cities it is about 1.5 million rubles," - the Federal Agency’s deputy head Alexei Kuleshov writes in his letter to the Ministry of Industry.
