Ministry of Economic Development: Rejection of South Stream to lead to problems with gas transit

Russia is ready to build the South Stream gas pipeline to remove all risks to gas transit, but if European countries reject the project, then they will be responsible for the violation of the gas supplies guarantees. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Alexei Ulyukayev on business breakfast in Stuttgart.

"If European consumers want to reduce the risks, we will build South Stream. If they don’t want, we won’t build it. But in this case the risk of breach of the deliveries warranty should be undertaken by the one that rejects these opportunities. We have enough gas as for the East, as well as the West,"- said the Minister.
