Kazakhstan plans to enter top-10 largest producers of energy resources

Kazakhstan plans to enter the top-10 largest producers of energy resources in the world, Prime Minister of the country, K. Masimov, said on Thursday.

“We think that the production of energy resources in our country will grow in the coming years. We hope to enter the top-10 main producers of energy resources including by the natural gas production. We also plan to work out the shale gas development projects. This direction of activity allowed us to overcome the problems we faced after the breakdown of the Soviet Union and become one of the strongest economically stable countries”, Mr. Masimov said.

The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, V. Shkolnik, reminded that after 2020 the republic plans to extract over 100 mln tons of hydrocarbons annually.
