SOCAR confirms its interest in purchase of share in DESFA

SOCAR has confirmed its interest in acquiring a stake in Greek gas network operator DESFA with the ability to complete the transaction before the end of the year, a representative of the Privatization Agency of Greece (HRADF) said.
According to him, Athens studied the option, in which SOCAR acquires 66% stake in DESFA with subsequent transfer of 17% to the Greek Government or third party to comply with EU requirements.
According to the statement HRADF, representatives of the Agency and Hellenic Petroleum held a meeting with a representatives of SOCAR on Wednesday, at which the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the early completion of the transaction.
