Putin: Claim of Naftogas to Gazprom doesn’t allow to grant preferences to the Ukraine

The claim filed by Naftogas to the Arbitration Court against Gazprom doesn’t allow Russia to grant any preferences to the Ukraine, the President of Russia, V. Putin said.

We can’t accept any suggestions about the granting preferences taking into account that the Ukraine has addressed the Arbitration Court. Any of our actions on the granting preferences might be used at the Court. We are deprived of this possibility even if we wanted it, the President of Russia said.

On June 16th Gazprom turned Naftogas to the advance payment system. After that Naftogas filed a claim to the Stockholm Arbitration Court asking to reduce the gas price and collect $6 bln of overpayment for fuel shipped from 2010 from Gazprom. Gazprom addressed the Stockholm Arbitration Court asking to collect debts from Naftogas which reached $4.5 bln by the time of the turning to the advance payment.
