Gazprom Neft might export oil for roubles and yuans

Kommersant has learnt that Gazprom Neft has agreed to export 80 thousand tons of oil with the possible payment in roubles. The company might also supply a part of its oil via the ESPO pipeline for yuans. According to Kommersant, other companies are also thinking about a partial payment not in dollars but meanwhile it is more of a demonstration of their possibilities rather than the turning to alternative currencies.

Gazprom Neft might be paid in roubles for 80 thousand tons of oil shipped to Europe from the Novoportovsky deposit, sources of Kommersant in the market said. The main currency of the contract is in dollars but the payment is in roubles – this option stated in the contract might be activated by the decision of the company, one of the interlocutors of Kommersant said. The conversion mechanism is agreed with the buyer. Gazprom Neft refused to comment yesterday.
