SOCAR pursues information about condition of platform at burned well in the Caspian Sea

Intelligence group of the SOCAR’s Security Department has ascended the platform at the Bulla-Deniz field in the Caspian Sea, where the fire lasts, examined its living and smoking quarters, the company’s press centre reported.

The fire at the exploratory well №90 happened about midnight on August 17 because of gas flowing during drilling at the depth of 5.858 thousand meters. 62 workers, who were at the platform that moment, were urgently evacuated, they weren’t injured. The SOCAR’s President Rovnag Abdullaev said to journalists earlier that it wasn’t a big problem to smother the fire, but the main task was the well saving.
