Rusal plans to increase foil output

In 2017 Rusal plans to launch the “Sayanal-50000” project (construct a new production mill at the Sayanal plant) with the total investment volume of $35 mln, the director for the packing business of Rusal, S. Goryachev, said.

According to him, the project is included in the import replacement program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Its realization will allow to annually produce 14 thousand tons of foil with the thickness of 6-9 microns meant for the production of multi-layer flexible packing.

Currently the annual foil import into Russia makes up 14 thousand tons, 7 thousand tons of which is imported from China with the lowering of the Customs value. The project Sayanal-50000 will allow the customers to buy legal products at a more profitable price compared with the illegal import from China, S. Goryachev said.
