Novatek doesn’t rule out possibility to sell 9% stake in Yamal LNG in spite of completion of LNG contracting, because the company plans to construct the second line of the LNG plant, the company’s head Leonid Mikhelson reported.

“The planned funding scheme allow us to own 60% in Yamal LNG. Novatek doesn’t rule out possibility of its stake decrease to a controlling package. This will also decrease the loading on Novatek’s balance in the field of the project financing. Besides, the decrease of the stake in Yamal LNG to 51% is considered in context of future construction of another LNG plant on resource base of our Gydan fields,” – he said.
