Serbia started the construction of South Stream

Serbia has started a construction of its part of the gas pipeline “South Stream”. The President of the country T.Nikolic said at a meeting with the Russian President V.Putin.

During the visit of the Russian Prime Minister D.Medvedev to Serbia in early April 2013 the Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić asserted the construction of the gas pipeline would start in December. Russia will finance the project (EUR 1.7 billion), while Serbia will provide tariff reduction while pumping gas via the territory of the country.
